Welcome (Benvenuti) to Stephen Decatur Elementary School. If you’re moving to Sigonella and have young children, we are the place for you! Our school is filled with many wonderful opportunities that are shared on the web site. Dedicated teachers, giving volunteers and Navy command create an invaluable support system for this school. We build an environment where our students are pivotal in the decisions we make. The staff strives to consistently analyze our status as a school. We then create strategies for continuous improvement and growth. Our school slogan is, “Together We Can!”

Sigonella is going through many changes as a community. The entire base at NAS I is under construction with many beautiful new buildings opening over the next few years. Our school is a part of this exciting change. We opened our new primary building in August 2003. It houses pre-school through kindergarten. In school year 2004-05 our entire school complex will begin a four-year project that will create a new school. It will be beautiful, but over the next few years we will be tolerating construction. Our motto here is that the buildings may not be user friendly, but our staff can’t be beat.
